Sportsbook.com’s sports analyst Alex Czajkowski has little doubt that this year’s Super Bowl XL will be the biggest sports betting event of all time. “The Super Bowl has always been the most bet on sporting event of the year,” Czajkowski states. “Now online gambling has significantly expanded the betting marketplace and that means without doubt that this year’s Super Bowl will be the single most wagered on event in the history of the world.”

Competing sports betting sites are quick to agree with Czajkowski’s predictions. Tens of millions of bets have already been placed at sports betting sites from football fans across the United States. The increase in wagering has been attributed to the ease of access many sports fans now have to online gambling sites. And popularity for sporting events seems to know no bounds. Although the increase in wagering this year is impossible to predict, many analysts say that thousands of sports fans who have never previously bet on the Super Bowl are betting this year.

Christian Capital Advisors is one industry analyst predicting the continuing growth of interest in sports betting. An estimated $450 to $600 million in Super Bowl bets were reported last year. The Nevada Gaming Control Board also reported a record number of bets on last year’s event; $90.7 million being collected in Las Vegas alone.
