For a woman in New Zealand, Christmas turned up early, or apparently that’s what she had in mind. Playing a land slot in Dunedin, New Zealand, the woman saw for a moment that she had hit the jackpot with a thirty six million dollar win, but it turned out that the machine became bugged and her win turned into four hundred and twenty dollars in reality.

Verna Brown, an Otago mental health employee claimed that for a short, super moment, the considered herself a multi-millionaire when on New Zealand’s South Island at Dunedin’s Law Courts she described as she put eleven point seven five Australian dollars into the poker machine. However, the machine was flashing a malfunction light and the hotel asked for a technician instead of the receivers. 

Thinking she had won close to thirty six million Australian dollars, Brown furthermore was approached by a poker player colleague endeavoring to try out a marriage proposal.

According to the Otago Daily Times, she told them, that she approached the bar and claimed she’d just won more than forty two million dollars, but she said she thought the bartender assumed she’d had one too many to drink. 

According to Eric Olsen, the hotel co-proprietor, when he saw that, he supposed he’d have to sell himself together with the hotel and mortgage for the next umpteen years.

Her future life held no immediate treasures, the malfunctioning parts were returned to the producers in Japan, and after two and half weeks the unfortunate Verna was informed of the reality.

Despite it all, on receiving her four hundred and twenty Australian dollars, she was insistent on the fact that she didn’t desire millions and was satisfied with her win.
