eGambling Review Reports Another Gambling Executive Faces Arrest

Fears that another David Carruthers style investigation is underway in the U.S. reverberated around the online gambling industry this week. Rumors that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating another high profile gambling mogul were leaked by anonymous sources in Washington D.C. according to eGaming Review.

The gambling publication printed the news, suggesting that a sealed warrant arrest is imminent and could put upcoming betting activity on the U.S. Superbowl in jeopardy. However, a spokesperson for the Department of Justice has denied the rumors, saying "Nothing would be made public until an individual or company was charged.”

Investor confidence in the online gambling industry was severly put to the test last year following the high profile arrest of David Carruthers and Peter Dick. The detention of former Neteller directors Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre has also affected share prices, causing some to look further afield for a safe return on their investments.
