The final of the Second Annual National Heads Up poker competition held at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, ended in triumph for professional poker player Ted Forrest. After winning 63 matches in three days, the poker fan was awarded the championship title and $500 000 in prize money.
A host of well-known professional poker players participated over the three day event, slowly being eliminated along the way. The championship title was finally decided by a best of three competition between the remaining players – Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and Ted Forrest.
In a nail-biting finish Ted Forrest emerged victorious. However Ferguson was also well rewarded for his efforts, pocketing over $250,000 dollars for his place as runner up for the second year in a row in the tournament.
NBC plans to broadcast the entire championship event beginning on April 16. The final will be shown in late May, and is also rumored to be repeated on cable outlet CNBC.
