Aharon Shaked, former dentist and founding member of 888 Holdings, is the gambling firm’s newest board member according to reports in British business media publications this week. Shaked, along with his brother Avi, originally founded the third largest gaming company in the world along with Israeli family the Ben-Yitzhak’s in 1997.
Since then 888 has gone on to record phenomenal profits. The fortunes of the Shaked brothers were boosted even further last year when the online casino firm floated on the London Stock Exchange. The Shaked’s earned over 103 million pounds sterling from selling stock at the time of the floatation, and have still retained an additional 311 million pounds worth of shares.

888 Holdings is the owner and operator of two of the world’s most popular online casinos Reef Club Online Casino and Casino On Net. The company also runs an exclusive poker site known as Pacific Poker. While 888 is currently seeking to minimize its dependence on gaming revenues generated from the U.S., fifty five percent of its 2005 revenue came from U.S. casino players.
