Playtech Joins British Trade Association for Gambling
Playtech’s decision to join British trade association, the Remote Gambling Association (RGA) came hot on the heels of its most recent acquisition. The gaming software firm recently purchased a Certificate of Prior Approval from Alderney in the Channel Islands and migrated its software to the Rank Group's Hard Rock Casino in Alderney.
A spokesman for the firm announced that Playtech is extremely pleased with its new membership in the RGA. “Their work is invaluable to the gaming industry, and we feel that they can represent our interests to regulatory authorities,” he stated. The Remote Gambling Association was founded in July 2005 following a merger between the Interactive Gaming, Gambling and Betting Association (IGGBA) and the Association of Remote Gambling Operators (ARGO). The organization represents the interests of remote gambling operators in the areas in which their members are located. The group regularly speaks on behalf of the industry to national governments and public bodies and tries to encourage high standards of integrity within the gaming industry. In order to be eligible for RGA membership, online casino software providers must either supply their product to one operator licensed by the Isle of Man, Channel Islands or European Economic Area.
