YouTeller Forced to Publish Disclaimer
Electronic funds merchant YouTeller remains something of an enigma. While the London-based firm's name has caused some to associate it with NeTeller, a disclaimer on YouTeller's parent site advises: "Seed Capital Ltd. is not affiliated with, related to or endorsed by NETeller Plc." NeTeller lawyers are behind the disclaimer, which appeared on the site this week. Information about the new firm is limited. Florian Schweitzer, a spokesperson for YouTeller, has told media that the firm bases its business plan on that of Google G-mail. It makes it revenues from referrals from members and seems to have no immediate plans to boost its enterprises. Schweitzer has said that YouTeller's infrastructure would be unable to deal with the volume of a full public opening without being forced to compromise on its services. Schweitzer did reveal however that this month an expected 1000 applicants will become members at YouTeller.com. "Our target group are people who play community-orientated online games like poker, chess or role-playing games," Schweitzer said. A 150 euro limit will be imposed on each account to decrease the risk of terrorist activity and money-laundering. Just as mysterious are the executives behind YouTeller. Some rumors suggest that the business team has established links with the online gambling industry, but so far they remain unsubstantiated.
