Aruba to Host $2.5 Million UltimateBet Poker Classic
For the sixth year in a row. Aruba will play host to the UltimateBet Poker Classic tournament. This year's event comes with a total prizepool of $2.5 million and a chance to win the coveted title. The news was announced by UltimateBet spokesperson George MacLean, who told media that the firm “bringing the UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic back to Aruba this September." MacLean went on to say that due to the size of this year's prize pool, “this year's event promises to be bigger, better and hotter than ever.” UltimateBet is also offering its online poker fans a unique chance to attend the live event. Ongoing satellite and freeroll tournaments will feature entry to the Poker Classic as prizes. The prize package which is worth $8,500 includes $3,000 for accommodation and travel expenses and the buy in fee of $5,500 for a main seat. Scheduled for September 23-30, this year's Poker Classic will feature Devon Miller who took home over $774,000 in cash along with last year's title. He returns this year to defend his title against approximately 750 other poker hopefuls. Miller will be joined by Anthrax member Scott Ian who won his seat in the tournament after winning a Rock Stars of Poker competition. Other past Aruba Poker Classic participants have included Annie Duke, Phil Hellmuth and Jennifer Tilly.
