New Jersey Gaming Enforcement Promises Close Eye on Atlantic City
Following the retirement of Thomas Auriemma, New Jersey's Director of Gaming Enforcement, a new acting Director has been appointed. Yvonne G. Maher is a veteran state prosecutor and assistant attorney general. The 45-year-old legal expert told media in a statement regarding her appointment that “we will continue to aggressively monitor the health and integrity of the casino gambling industry in Atlantic City."
Maher has previously worked for the Casino Protection Bureau in the Division of Criminal Justice where she was tasked with prosecuting criminal cases involving illegal casinos for over four years. She also has two years experience working as an assistant prosecutor for Atlantic County.
