Poker fans have reacted enthusiastically to an announcement this week by online gambling firm PartyGaming. According to a Party Poker spokesperson, the firm is guaranteeing $5 million in its online tournament action this month.
The company's spokesperson went on to say: "It is good news all round that over $5 million is available to thousands of players in guaranteed tournaments every month. In addition to guaranteed tournaments, qualifying for the World Series of Poker is in full swing and there is over $50 000 in freerolls available every month. The Party Poker.com Bad Beat Jackpot also continues to tick over at a rate of over $1 000 every hour and has just been hit for over $145 000."

This month's tournaments commence on Monday 2nd April. Along with the chance to compete for the huge pot, Party Poker is also offering a guaranteed $50,000 in freerolls and further triple figure sums in the Bad Beat Jackpot.

The main event in $5 million month is predicted to be the $300,000 guaranteed tournament. This takes place every Sunday and is open to online players that qualify online. With a buy in fee of just $3, Party Poker expects the number of those competing to climb steadily throughout the month. As a result, a further four new qualifying tournaments will be held each weekend.
Other events with an increased guarantee include daily tournaments such as the $10,000 Guaranteed, which has increased to $13,000 and the $18,000 Guaranteed, now $20,000. Last but not least, the $40, 000 Guaranteed that runs each Saturday has been topped up to $50,000.
