Spanish mobile gambling firm Zero36 announced a new service this week which will give mobile phone users access to several casino games in two languages. Zero36, a subsidiary of the Palace Group, will offer gambling fans the ability to download new games directly from the Spanish Zero36 website or through its WAP site for mobile phones. Free, fun games will also be available through Telefonica's Spanish network.

On offer to Spanish fans is a wide range of popular casino games including Blackjack, European Roulette, Slots, Jackpot Games, Scratch-Card games and Video-Poker all powered by Microgaming. The games can be played in both Spanish and English.

Earlier this year, Zero36 developed a Location-Based Filtering System to be used with mobile phone applications. The system enables legal access to mobile gambling and betting based on the user's geographic location. The firm is also looking at obtaining licenses to operate in Spanish regions that have their own gambling laws.

Gambling via mobile phones is one of the biggest growth industries combining major players in the media, entertainment and telecommunications world. It is predicted to increase its current annual revenues from $2 billion to nearly $23 billion in 2011.
