FunTech Subsidiary Signs Soccer Deal
FunTech’s latest acquisition, fantasy sports game developer Fanball, has signed a timely deal this week with three British companies. The firm, which was bought by FunTech last year for $12.5 million dollars, has signed a deal with Underground Digital Media, Tiscali UK Ltd, and Goal.com SA to develop fantasy sports games. The deal comes at a crucial time just months before the opening of the 2006 World Cup.
Fanball has been tasked with developing and operating the group’s online gaming website. The other three companies in the deal will direct traffic to the site via links on their own sites. The new site is expected to be up and running prior to the finals of the World Cup.
