Poker fans across the British Isles are celebrating this week following the announcement of a new deal between television station ITV4 and Gala Casinos. The deal incorporates plans to televise all six events in this year's Great British Poker Tour.
The deal was announced by Nick Potter of Gala Casinos, who told media, "This is a long term, prestigious partnership with ITV and Presentable which adds another dimension to the play at the GBPT. So far the tour has been a massive success, and we plan to work with Presentable and the poker community to get some great programme content that all fans of the game will love".

ITV4's Channel Controller, David Fewings also welcomed the deal, saying, "We're looking forward to having The Great British Poker Tour on ITV4 this autumn. The popularity of poker is growing every day and I'm sure this will be a fantastic contest".

Key play from the events held in Nottingham, Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Teeside and Leeds will be filmed by well-known television production firm Presentable. The company has a long-standing relationship with poker dating back to 1999 when it first produced Late Night Poker in the UK. Plans for the new show will see the day's events covered in-depth in the 12 one hour shows to be fronted by Alex Jones. The show will also feature several celebrity poker players.
