Playtech Announces Quarter 4 Results
Playtech, one of the world's leading developers of online gaming solutions, has announced its latest results. According to the firm, total revenues for the first quarter 2007 show an increase on Quarter 4 but are lower than the same time last year. The reason for this is U.S legislation which has adversely affected the number of players frequenting Playtech sites. Figures show a five percent drop compared to 2006's Quarter 1 revenues. Along with its figures, Playtech announced that the merging of Tribeca licensees into the firm's iPoker network has taken place a month earlier than previously scheduled. This has doubled the network's number of players. Further good news is that new opportunities in the European online gaming market are increasing. The decline in Playtech's Asian business has been attributed to the restructuring of a major licensee, which is due for completion in 2007's Quarter 2.
