The expanding poker markets, tournament rules, standards, rakes and bonuses will all be on the agenda of the various panels and discussions that will take place.

The intention of congress is to bring together business leaders from both online poker rooms and brick and mortar casinos. The conference will be divided into “live” and “online” poker interests, addressing televised poker, the link between poker players and sports bettors and developing player trust online.

This is the fourth year for the World Poker Congress and many participants speak highly of the networking opportunities the conference presents. This year’s conference will focus on the growing poker markets in Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.

The second day will focus on the ways in which live and online poker venues can team up to further the cause of the game.

Keynote speakers will be CEO of PartyGaming, since June of 2008, Jim Ryan and founder CEO of the World Poker Tour, Steve Lipscomb. The topic will be “Remaking the Poker Market.” The World Poker Congress web site states, “The gentleman will tackle the challenges of surviving and thriving in a poker market that is constantly evolving.”

Lipscomb explained, “The World Poker Congress is simply not like other conferences. In attendance are the decision makers from the most exciting companies in the poker arena - and they are there to do business.”

Ryan has a great deal of experience negotiating the ever changing moods of the online poker market. Lipscomb has been an integral part of the success of the World Poker Tour, including the development of its subscription-based online poker room.
