Last year's UK Poker Open Tournament, sponsored by 888.com, attracted a record number of players with its $1 million prize pool. Yet numbers are predicted to increase even further for this year’s event to be held from September 25 to October 8.

Professionals and amateurs alike are expected to participate in the online tournament, with several well known names predicted to make it through to the final. The event will be televised and players will have the opportunity to win a $7,500 prize package to the event via the Pacific Poker website.

Sub-satellite competitions are also being established to allow players to compete for places in regular satellite competitions. The winners of these will also have the chance to win a U.K. Poker Open prize package that provides the entry fee for the tournament along with travel expenses.
