World Poker Association Code Offers Advice for Poker Players
Jesse Jones' World Poker Association boasts a substantial membership despite only being founded two years ago. Now the Association has put itself firmly in the limelight following the publication of its Code of Ethics last week.
Among the subjects the Code addresses are issues of professionalism, personal conduct, and courtesy and good sportsmanship. Five chapters are used to cover all aspects of the above subjects. Adherence to the Code is compulsory for members of the Association, who include top names in the poker world.
The World Poker Association is a non-profit organization with over 1400 registered members. It was established by poker professional Jesse Jones in an attempt to provide unity in the poker world and to direct the future of the game at tournament level.
The Association’s board of directors includes 2005 World Series of Poker champion Joe Hachem, Wendeen Eolis, a consultant in legal and government affairs, and poker author Lou Krieger. Joining Jones and Hachem on the board are fellow poker champions Paul Wasicka, winner of the 2007 NBC Heads-UP Championship and European champ Marcel Luske.
