Outside of all of her work in the entertainment industry, she considers poker to be like her "second career". She has competed professionally in many celebrity poker tournaments since she started playing and often visits Las Vegas to hit the casinos or to attend poker related events. She has participated in several World Series of Poker sponsored games and repeatedly performs well in her efforts.

Shannon's match up with Carbon Poker comes after the company has searched for a considerable amount of time to find a great spokesperson that really represents them as a company. They wanted to find someone who is well respected and easily recognizable in the poker community. Shannon definitely fits with what Carbon Poker was looking for thanks to the fact that she is a capable player and she has made a considerable name for herself in the world of poker. Shannon and the company have been working out plans as to how they will be using Shannon to promote their name.

One of Shannon's responsibilities will be to attend major poker tournaments while representing Carbon Poker. She will be playing as she normally does while wearing Carbon Poker gear to get the company's name more recognition. When she is not playing Shannon will be doing appearances, talking with people in the crowd, and handing out swag from the company. She will also be playing poker on the company's portion of the website and will be updating posts to the Carbon Poker blog on a regular basis. The company is also looking to create a large-scale marketing campaign that Shannon will be involved in.
