Excapsa Software Searches for Internet Gaming Company
According to a recent report in Reuters, Excapsa Software intends to purchase an online gambling software firm in the next few months. The publicly-listed software firm posted a pre-tax net income of $16.8 million dollars at the end of June, proving the company has bounced back from its loss of $431,000 just one year ago.
Excapsa’s come-back from the red occurred after management sealed a licensing deal for poker software with the operator of UltimateBet.com, boosting the firm’s net revenue for the year by approximately 27 percent.
Excapsa’s chief executive, Jim Ryan, has confirmed reports published by Reuters and other news media. “We are actively pursuing casino software,” Ryan said. “We would like to buy a casino software developer and extend our offering.” Ryan went on to say that Excapsa is planning its own online blackjack tournament offering later in the year for mobile phone users.
Addressing the subject of U.S. legal action against former BetonSports’ chief executive David Carruthers, Ryan predicts new developments to have little impact on the gaming industry. Similarly, he expects the U.S. government will seek to increase its control over online gambling as opposed to implementing an outright ban. “We are quite bullish and optimistic legislation will not pass in this session of Congress,” he said.
