Jailed Ex-BetonSports Executive Gets Online Support
There is now a website online directed toward the support of former BetonSports executive who was recently jailed by the United States authorities for his participation in online betting. The details of his case and that of his company, BetanSports, are the subject of the website.
The website is named FreeDavidCarruthers.com. Included is an earlier photo of Carruthers prior to his present problems along with statements of opinions both pro and con, in frfrnc to his present situation.
It is made clear that Carruthers is no longer associated with BetonSports and has no interest in its affairs at the present time.
It is a major theme of the site to make known arguments against those who would legislate away online gaming while allowing onerous exemptions for horse racing as well as state sponsored lotteries, saying that this flies in the face of the supposed political intent of protecting personal morality and the American family. In addition the issue of the possible inherent loss of further Internet rights and liberties are considered. Details are presented with regard to the arrest and detainment of Carruthers, and the manner in which he was treated by the authorities and is being handled.
The question is posed editorially as to what actual crime did Carruthers commit making it plain that he is neither a dangerous assassin, a murderer, or even a white collar criminal who may be stealing clients’ funds.
The site concludes that the only crime that he may have perpetrated was to publicly support the regulations of online gambling in the United States. The site makes it clear that its intent is to make known the extent of the hypocrisy of the present administration in the United States as regards its attitude toward gambling, and its endeavors to use the law to persecute those who may be legally operating such businesses from without the borders of the United States.
Those who may wish to contact the website administrators may do so through the following email address: freedavid@freedavidcarruthers.com
