Record Number of Employees Gamble During Work Time
A survey on British gambling habits conducted by online odds comparison site BetRescue has drawn attention this week in Britain to the rising trend of internet gambling. The results of the survey indicate that nearly three million Britons regularly use their workplace computer for internet gambling. They also gamble over 2 million pounds sterling online while at work.
The average amount each person spends online is 23 pounds, which covers everything from football to poker. Playing at lottery sites, betting on horse-racing and on casino games are also popular pastimes.
Over the course of a year, the average gambler who gambles during work hours spends approximately 1200 pounds on his gambling habit. BetRescue’s survey also showed that the average player wins less than one quarter of his wagered cash back.
