This week, 888.com, the Gibraltar based gambling group has signed an agreement that will make them the official sponsors of Toulouse Football Club. The agreement is limited to the next two seasons.

This is just one part of a strategic approach by 888 using multiple channels, to expand its customer base outside of the United States.

This sponsorship of the Toulouse football club may be added to several other projects such as the sponsorship of the Middlesbrough Football Club in England. Another example is it's sponsorship of the well known World Snooker Championship. This has made available marketing opportunities in such snooker strongholds as the Far East and even China.

888’s chief executive officer, John Anderson, says that investing like this in sports sponsorship has resulted in some great successes in the United Kingdom, for them. the UK provide to be the fastest growing marketing area for 888 last year. Anderson says that the company is planning to take this success and to spread it out throughout Europe and the Toulouse contract is only an initial step in that direction.

The company has developed a strategy of using good customer support multi-lingual websites and drawing audiences spread throughout 177 countries and speaking as many as 11 languages.
