Electronic Games Trialed in Atlantic City

No less than eleven casinos in Atlantic City will be adding electronic poker and roulette tables to their gaming floors following a controversial decision made by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission this week.

The decision has raised concerns amongst casino employees who say that the move will reduce workforce numbers. A spokesperson from the New Jersey Casino Control Commission responded to concerns, stating that there is no intention to replace live dealers with the machines. Instead the machines are designed to attract new players who find human interaction intimidating and to win seasoned slot fans from neighboring states.

According to Linda M Kassekert, Chair for the Casino Control Commission, the new games will add a new element to the Atlantic City market. "It is particularly important because Pennsylvania and Delaware have them," she said, referring to local competition. "We're approving them because I think they're a very important product for Atlantic City."

The games to be trialed in New Jersey include roulette, poker and slots. To date, there is no news on when the eleven casinos participating in the trial will introduce the machines to their gaming floors.
