Software Firm Appoints Three New Directors
An announcement that software developer Cryptologic has appointed three new directors was made this week by company chairman Robert Stikeman. The news comes in the wake of Nigel Simon’s departure, who resigned after the firm completed its restructure and relocation to Dublin, Ireland. A director with Cryptologic since 2005, Simon previously held senior management positions within the international tobacco firm Gallaher Group PLC. He has also had a long-standing involvement with the Prince of Wales’ charity, the Prince’s Trust where he has been a valuable mentor.
In his statement welcoming the new directors on board, Stikeman referred to them as “seasoned business people” who will help to direct the firm’s new global strategy.
The first of the new recruits, Mr Tom Byrne, joins Cryptologic after a successful career as a chartered accountant. Byrne became Head of Corporate Finance for a prominent Dublin brokerage and more recently, was nominated to join the board of the Irish Takeover Panel by the Institute of Bankers. Cryptologic’s second recruit, Wai Ming Yap, is a Singapore based lawyer specializing in gaming and leisure law. Employed by the Stamford Law Corporation, he is a member of public company boards in Hong Kong. Completing the appointments, Brian Hadfield joins the firm after 21 years with Unisys Ltd, where he was vice president and managing director in the United Kingdom, Singapore and the Middle East.
