The Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California was this year’s host of the World Poker Tour Ladies Night IV tournament. The competition included some of the stars of ladies poker including Jennifer Tilly, Kelly Griggs, and this year’s winner, Joanne “JJ” Liu.

In nail-biting action, the defending champion, actress and seasoned poker pro Jennifer Tilly was no match for Kelli Griggs. Griggs’ also cleaned up Vanessa Rousso with a flopped tens trip. In Liu’s earlier rounds, both Erica Schoenberg and Anahit Galajian fell by the wayside, leaving Liu and Griggs’ the last women standing. The final table was settled in just over 20 minutes when Liu beat Griggs convincingly.
The tournament win is Liu’s 45th money finish in major events, which have earned her more than three quarters of a million dollars in prize money to date. The World Poker Tour Ladies Night IV earned the player a $25,000 seat in the World Poker Tour’s Championship event and a WPT ring. As well as the considerable winnings Liu has amassed, a series of sponsorship deals and advertising endorsements are expected to increase her already enviable bank balance.
