Remember the old saying “you can never beat the house”? Well, you are still going to need a little bit of luck but with the online casino games announced by Betfair you are at least 50% chance to become a winner. In the midst of turmoil in the online casino industry, Betfair is trying to do new and innovative thins by introducing a selection of casino favorite with the house edge removed.
Named “The Zero Lounge”, Betfair expects it to attract more than 80% of its casino players. Currently four games are offered in the Zero Lounge: Blackjack, Roulette, Jacks or Better and Baccarat. All four carry no house edge and the player has exactly a 50% chance to beat the casino.
In Roulette, Betfair has removed the zero from the wheel. Those betting on color (red or black) will have exactly 50% chance of winning the bet. Before the removal of the zero the player’s chances were 48.6% and have now been improved to 50%. However for the other games the players are still expected to learn the correct strategy in order to have the same winning chances as the house.
The rules for blackjack state that the dealer will stand on soft 17, will not surrender late, and will pay 2-1 on suited natural blackjack and five card 21. In Baccarat, the commission has been adjusted to 2.75% and the royal flush in Jacks or Better now pays a higher amount, making both games Zero House Edge games.
This new product from Betfair is quite revolutionary and we assume that the main goal for Betfair is to attract players to its other services, namely online poker and sports betting. All in all, this looks like a lucrative offer to online casino players.
