Jacobs New U.S. Poker Championship Winner

A 22-year-old Ivy League graduate Alex Jacobs has just become exactly $878,500 richer after winning the U.S. Poker Championship held recently in Atlantic City.

The popular youngster nicknamed “Yahtzem” added his winnings to this year’s poker total, which brought him in a cool $1,690,000. Jacobs previous highest placing was second at the World Poker Tour Foxwoods Poker Classic in April.

Jacobs lined up against 259 other poker players competing in the U.S. Poker Championship to eventually face off against Jordan Morgan at the final table. Morgan won $405,072 for his second place spot.

Jacob’s win has topped off a busy year for the new champion. The Yale graduate completed his studies in mathematics and economics, and shortly afterwards collected $655,000 for his performance in the Foxwoods tournament.
