Las Vegas CEO Calls For Online Gambling Regulation

Mirage CEO Terry Lanni talking about the Unlawful Internet Gambling Act “makes no sense whatsoever”. The bill forbids American banks, credit card companies and other financial institutions from transferring funds to online gambling sites and thus blocking American players from actively participating. Terry Lanni added that “the Republican party pandered to the religious right.” With the legislation.

Lanni, who is also the chairman of the American Gaming Association is supposed to participate in discussions deciding by December if the American Gaming Association will make an official request to consider the regulation of online gambling. Before making in a request the AGA call for a commission to study the issue and decide if a regulation of the online gambling industry will prove to be successful America.

When looking for model for successful regulation Lanny and other are looking forward to Britain who has already announced plans to regulate online gambling. Lanny and many other inside and outside of the gaming industry, including Britain, believe that the best course of action is to abandon prohibiting and move on to regulation of the industry.
