Bodog Inherits Casino Players from Bowmans
Customers of British gambling firm Bowmans International can be forgiven for feeling confused by the company’s shock departure from the U.S. gambling market. In a message to players, the Mauritius-based gaming operator announced that Bowmans International players will receive their online gambling services directly from Costa Rican firm Bodog effective immediately. The company has given no reason for this sudden announcement but insiders say it has been heavily influenced by recent UIGEA legislation recently passed by U.S. Congress in an effort to prevent financial transactions being conducted with online gambling firms.
Bowman International announced that all player account details, along with wagers, have been migrated to Bodog.com’s gaming platform. New account information and details of a special loyalty bonus have been emailed to every player. Confidentiality agreements have been signed between Bowmans and Bodog to protect customer data. Bowman’s statement referred to Bodog as “an established player in the e-gaming industry” and “one of the world’s fastest growing media and digital entertainment companies.” It also promised players that “as a new Bodog customer, you will have full access to their comprehensive suite of online gaming and betting services.”
