Keep Warm Online Gambling
It seems as if this winter, online gambling firms can do no wrong. Housebound residents in Canada and the U.S. are turning to online gambling for recreation, and the numbers are rapidly increasing if the latest figures at PokerStars are anything to go by.
According to the online gaming operator, over 12,000 poker fans were logged on to poker games for a continuous 24 hour period last week. This beats the daily average for the week of 8,000 players. Similar figures were reported by rival firm Full Tilt Poker which recorded 6,362 players participating online over a 24 hour period.
High volumes of traffic from the American Midwest states were also recorded by Mansion Poker, leading to the theory that extreme outdoor conditions are good news for online gambling operators. With predictions of more of the same weather this weekend, a winter online gambling boom could be helped along by colder than average conditions in Northern Europe, keeping housebound residents in need of warmer pursuits.
