All eyes in the poker world are expected to be on the action at the third annual European Open Poker Tournament, scheduled for December 4 to 11. In addition, this year’s tournament also features celebrity couple, footballer Teddy Sherringham and former Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd, playing a hand of poker.
The PartyPoker event is widely predicted to be even bigger than last year’s. “The real tension could come from the battle of the babes as the new presenter of poker on Five is Roxanne Siordia, Maxim's current girl of the year in the U.S.," a spokesman for the online gambling firm said. “Danielle is used to being the biggest draw wherever she goes, but it is going to be a close run thing this time.”
Participants confirmed to feature in the competition are Steve Davis of the snooker world, DJ Spoony and actor Jamie Foreman. They will be joined by defending champion Ian Frazer, who will return to defend his title. The tournament will be filmed by Matchroom Sport and will be televised early in 2007 on the United Kingdom’s Channel Five.
