UK Company Develops Iphone Gambling Capability
Probability plc, the London-listed mobile technology company, last week successfully demonstrated a gambling service running on an Apple iPhone, leading the mobile gambling field in the technology.
A full working version of Blackjack has been developed and the company is boasting that it is the first online casino game to have been built and demonstrated in real money play mode on an iPhone.
iPhone Blackjack has all the features of the real game, including insurance, split and double down options. Bets take place on Probability's secure gambling servers in Alderney in the Channel Isles using WiFi or the iPhone's mobile connections. The game has all the benefits of the device's unique, touch driven, interface. Tapping twice on the screen zooms the player into a close-up view of the cards, and the player can drag and scroll the whole game experience with a fingertip. Interaction involves tapping virtual buttons on the screen.
Probability's developers - working from technical information provided by Apple itself - have been able to re-create a full Blackjack experience in the iPhone's Safari web browser. At present, the iPhone inventor, Apple, does not allow third party developers to install applications on the iPhone.
Probability's CEO Charles Cohen, commenting on the iPhone development work, said: “This really is a world first and an important technological step for us. The iPhone experience, I believe, is a sign of things to come for all mobile phones.” Using Web 2.0 marketing tactics, Probability has demonstrated the new iPhone game on YouTube.com.
Meantime, Probability is racing ahead with their new development and has already signed up over 200,000 customers on all UK networks for gambling on casino and bingo on their mobile phones.
